Downtown Design Studio
Drop Cap Clock
One of the first projects we had in the NC State College of Design's Downtown Design studio was to explore different mediums in our wood and metal shop, experimenting with different tools and materials. We had to create something using the word "downtown". Inspired by the extensive use of vintage typography throughout downtown Raleigh, I designed a drop cap letter. Joesph Mann and I collaborated to turn this drop cap into a clock lasercut out of plexiglass that was sanded, painted, and then hung in our Downtown Studio (since the Downtown Studio also lacked a clock!)
